Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is back today
28 feb 2024The new title by AvantGarden Games that is going to retell the story of brothers Naia and Naiee has just been released! We had the wonderful opportunity to support the dev team on this remake, adding our passion and quality animation to the project. Maga Animation Studio took care of gameplay animation and various tech animation activities, which now feature rebuilt characters, richer landscapes, and the latest generation gameplay paired with a newly recorded soundtrack.
Swedish author Josef Fares' timeless masterpiece Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was first published in 2013 and now 505 Games re-released it in a redesigned form, so that gamers around the world can discover once again its charm full of heartwarming narrative, adventure and mystery. As a matter of fact the story depicts a fantasy journey of two brothers through a fairy-tale world populated by trolls, ogres and other magical creatures, which they will have to face in order to find the remedy for the mysterious illness that has struck their father.

We went to Berlin! Maga Animation at EFM 2024
22 feb 2024Serena Tripepi (Maga Animation Studio's TD, director and also in charge for international relations) just came back from a 4-day visit to the European Film Market (EFM) at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, that was held from February 15 to 21.
Italy was “Country in Focus” this year and the Italian Pavilion, where we were hosted as part of the delegation, has been home of Italian cinema within this event: a physical place and a virtual window to put under the spotlight the Italian film industry and grant an opportunity for networking with producers, distributors, investors and experts. This visit to Berlin was a fantastic chance for our studio, to engage in extensive networking, discover new possibilities for future co-productions, meet new talented artists, stay up-to-date on new technologies and stimulate creativity for our upcoming projects!

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged among the D.I.C.E. Awards nominees!
12 gen 2024In October 2023 one of the most exciting driving games with the famous Mattel™ toy cars came back with a new release by the game developer Milestone. Maga Animation Studio supported the development team on Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 by making an epic adventure through 2D motion comics cutscenes. Similarly to its previous version, Turbocharged is a racing game in which the player takes control of vehicles from the Hot Wheels franchise and races against other opponents in miniature racetracks.
Two days ago, on 10th January, the game has been nominated for "Racing Game of the Year" at the 27th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards (Design Innovate Communicate Entertain), commonly recognized as the video game equivalent of the Academy Awards! After receiving on November 13th the nomination for "Best Sports/Racing Game" at the Game Awards 2023, this second accreditation adds even more meaning to all of us involved in this project.
