On Your Tail, the adventure video game developed by Memorable Games and published by Humble Games, has been recognized as a finalist for the Pulcinella Awards 2025 at Cartoons On The Bay festival, in the Interactive Animation category.
As the animation partner for this project, we shaped the lively atmosphere of Borgo Marina, a picturesque coastal town in Italy where players step into the shoes of Diana Caproni, a writer drawn into intriguing local mysteries.
Through meticulously crafted animations, carefully designed characters and immersive storytelling, On Your Tail offers an engaging blend of narrative mystery and life simulation. Since its Windows release in December 2024, followed by its Nintendo Switch debut in March 2025, the game has been widely praised for its gorgeous setting and compelling story.

On May 9, Animation Day at Università Cattolica in Milan will bring together students and key players in Italian animation, fostering dialogue between academia and the industry.
With the theme "Cartoons Across Borders", the event will emphasize the global nature of animation. Organized by Università Cattolica in collaboration with Cartoon Italia and Bergamo Animation Days, the conference will feature top Italian production companies, including Maga Animation Studio.
Among the speakers, Maga’s CEO Max Carrier Ragazzi will present "Maga Animation Studio and the co-productions with Japanese and US markets", sharing insights on international collaborations and case studies. His talk will highlight the studio’s work in cross-cultural productions, showcasing successful projects that demonstrate Maga’s role in the global animation landscape.
The event will give students a unique opportunity to explore the animation industry, connect with top professionals and gain insight into Maga’s international collaborations.
From March 17 to 21, Maga Animation Studio participated in the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, as we do every year. Our studio was part of the Italian video game developers delegation, thanks to IIDEA (Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association), under the aegis of the Italian Trade Agency of Los Angeles.
It was an incredible opportunity for Maga Animation for Games, our dedicated department, to connect with game industry leaders and explore future collaborations. During the conference, we had the pleasure of meeting various key players, publishers and talented developers, showcasing the quality of Made in Italy games to the global audience. We also discussed our ongoing and future projects and shared insights on the latest trends and technologies.

We're back from the K-Marketing Forum, which took place on March 18 in Milan. The event, organized by BVA Doxa and MLD Entertainment, focused on family marketing and new generations.
In the morning session, Maga Animation Studio teamed up for a workshop with content creator Luca Gervasi, famous for his social media content featuring his cat Belen. The session, titled "Luca Gervasi, you and Belen: when social networks and quality animation create a powerful IP," looked at the growth of the "I'm Belen" animated series, created by Maga, and its digital marketing strategies. The workshop also featured Raffaella Calvino Prina (brand specialist) and Lucia Vismara (business development) from our studio.
In the workshop we showed how combining social media and top-notch animation can really engage and captivate different audiences.
We had a lot of fun sharing our insights and are looking forward to seeing what interesting projects will come out of it!

On March 6, Maga's CEO, Massimo Carrier Ragazzi, took part in an exciting event hosted by the Italian Embassy in Copenhagen, represented by Ambassador Stefania Rosini. The gathering centered around exploring co-production opportunities between the Italian and Danish animation industries.
The event featured a roundtable to explore collaboration opportunities between Italian and Danish animation studios through co-production agreements. The goal was to assess the feasibility of creating a preferential channel for co-productions, helping to bridge funding gaps by leveraging resources and expertise from both nations.
The event saw notable attendees such as representatives from broadcasters like RAI Kids, the national Italian children's television, and DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation).

Maga Animation Studio just produced a CG animated commercial, “Luce 5.0”, for Keynesia, an eco-tech company based in Italy. The ad follows two factory workers turned eco-conscious entrepreneurs, using light to show the evolution of Italian industry from a dim past to a sustainable future with Keynesia's green solutions.
Our marvelous team took charge of the project from storyboard to final editing, covering every essential stage including the direction, animatic, character and environment design, modeling, rigging, animation, lighting and compositing. Keynesia's team completed the final edit, audio and video post-production, and motion graphics titles, while also being responsible for the concept and artistic direction.
The commercial is currently airing on national Italian TV channels, but you can also watch it on the Luce 5.0 website to see the incredible journey of the two workers come to life!

Maga Animation for Games and Auge Communication have teamed up for a campaign for Italian food company Gran Pavesi, unveiled at Milan Games Week!
The ad features "game over" scenes from various Italian video games, set to Mozart's Lacrimosa. The final scene shows a gamer losing due to the irresistible snacks, highlighting the tagline "Good enough to die for."
This project wants to celebrate the creativity and talent of Italian developers. The campaign includes games like On Your Tail, The Darkest Tales, Letter Bunny, Soulstice, Sliding Hero, The Bloodline, and Monster Jam™ Showdown. Posters and flyers also feature Umbral Core and Extra Coin.

We are back from our amazing experience at Milan Games Week 2024! One of the standout moments of the event, held from November 22nd to 24th, was the showcase on the main stage of the commercial ad we produced for Gran Pavesi, a major Italian food company, in collaboration with the Auge Communication agency. We also had the chance to explore the fair and visit the Gran Pavesi stands, which featured our key artworks and illustrations.
Moreover, it was also incredibly gratifying to see so many gamers enjoying the demo of On Your Tail, the game we are working on for Memorable Games, at the Indie Dungeon. This area, dedicated to independent developers, was made possible by the Italian game industry association IIDEA and hosted various talented emerging studios.

Our animated short film, Lapo the Bunny, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia!
Held annually in the Harajuku/Omotesando area of Tokyo since 1999, SSFF & ASIA is accredited by the Academy Awards® and is one of the largest international short film festivals in Asia. Each year, the festival receives over 10,000 submissions from around the globe, showcasing the best in short film creativity and innovation.

From 21st to 24th October, Maga Animation Studio participated in MIPCOM Cannes (France), held at the prestigious Palais des Festivals. Partnering with Lucia Vismara of Vismanimation, we engaged in dynamic networking, discussed exciting new projects with international animation industry leaders, and showcased Maga’s artistic and production capabilities.
MIPCOM is renowned as the premier global event for content rights and co-production, drawing top producers and studio executives from over 100 countries. In Cannes we leveraged this unparalleled platform to highlight our innovative work and forge valuable connections that will drive our future projects.
On October 3, the IED Career Fair in Milan was a fantastic chance for Maga Animation Studio to connect with both graduating and recently graduated students from the Istituto Europeo di Design. Our team, including Serena Tripepi (technical director) and Elisabetta Silva (lead animator), was there to meet the students.
At our booth, they introduced themselves, shared their CVs, and chatted about their career goals while showing off their portfolios.
This event was a great way for students to showcase their skills and for Maga to spot some amazing new talent in the animation field, discovering fresh, creative minds ready to start their professional journeys.

Our new 2D animated series Lapo the Bunny has been officially selected in the Elements +3 category at the Giffoni Film Festival 2024, taking place from July 19 to 28 in Salerno.
This series follows Lapo, a curious bunny who loves collecting treasures. Despite his efforts often ending in humorous failures, Lapo has the unique ability to produce golden eggs when he exerts excessive physical effort.
Our team has worked hard on every aspect of the animation, from storyboarding to sound design. We are proud of this accomplishment and excited to present Lapo the Bunny at the festival!
Our 3D animated series The GoGoPig is now available on TIMvision! This delightful series follows the adventures of a funny and determined pig, an aspiring athlete who dreams of becoming a champion in a wide range of sports, including the Olympics, winter sports and soccer.
GoGoPig’s journey is filled with humor and excitement, as he navigates the challenges of various sports with the help of his eccentric green cat coach, Mr. Cat (performed with the great Italian voice of Gianluca Iacono). The GoGoPig promises to captivate audiences with its heartwarming and hilarious storyline, showcasing GoGoPig’s determination and the valuable lessons he learns along the way.
Fresh from our visit to Cartoons on the Bay, the prestigious animation festival in Pescara, we are proud to announce that, during the Rai Kids conference, Annita Romanelli and Luca Milano have unveiled Papallas, a new CG animated series that will be brought to life by Maga Animation Studio.
The series is a creative endeavor by the Armando Testa communication group and draws inspiration from the classic Carosello episodes once broadcast on Rai television. The concept of the planet Papalla and its spherical inhabitants was originally conceived by Armando Testa in the 1960s to advertise Philco home appliances, with the beloved episodes airing from 1966 to 1972.

Italian content creator Luca Gervasi and his famous cat Belen have become the latest stars of their own animated series entitled "I'm Belen". Developed by Maga Animation Studio, the series will highlight the quirky and unique moments of their lives in a fun and colorful manner.
On March 20th, which also happened to be Belen's birthday, Luca released a teaser for the upcoming series. The first episode was officially launched yesterday, showcasing the charming duo in one of their misadventures.
The Maga team behind the animation did an outstanding job in bringing them to life on screen! By collaborating closely with him and his crew, we were able to make a high-quality product that truly captures the essence of Gervasi and his beloved cat.

The upcoming indie title On Your Tail, developed by Memorable Games and published by Humble Games, has been chosen by Nintendo for an exclusive showcase at the prestigious Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, which took place from March 18th to March 22nd. Out of all the games in the world, only seven were selected by Nintendo to be part of this special press-only event on March 19th.
In this game, players are going to be immersed in the narrative adventure of Diana, an amateur detective exploring the charming Italian-inspired village of Borgo Marina.
The team at Maga Animation Studio, who is working hard for bringing On Your Tail to life, was excited and honored to have the opportunity to showcase the game alongside other amazing titles and to display their talent to a wider audience during GDC, a key event for game developers, artists and industry professionals from all over the world.

The new project on Terminator, developed by the Nacon Studio Milan team, was presented with a new trailer last night, during the Nacon Connect 2024 live event. In the past months, our team worked for Nacon Paris and Nacon Milan to make this amazing trailer of Terminator Survivors, a survival game with a wide and open setting, initially announced with a teaser trailer in 2022. The game will be set in a post-apocalyptic world and related to the first two Terminator movies, so after the outbreak of the war between humans and machines, where a group of survivors must try to stay alive following Judgment Day, before the creation of John Connor's resistance movement. This trailer reveals the setting and mood of the game for the first time, with a constant sense of tension and danger felt by the survivors.
As well as having been involved in all stages of the animation work, Maga Animation Studio also wanted to give a special twist to the trailer's soundtrack, with a touching original song composed and performed by the international acoustic guitarist and singer Beppe Gambetta.
The new title by AvantGarden Games that is going to retell the story of brothers Naia and Naiee has just been released! We had the wonderful opportunity to support the dev team on this remake, adding our passion and quality animation to the project. Maga Animation Studio took care of gameplay animation and various tech animation activities, which now feature rebuilt characters, richer landscapes, and the latest generation gameplay paired with a newly recorded soundtrack.
Swedish author Josef Fares' timeless masterpiece Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was first published in 2013 and now 505 Games re-released it in a redesigned form, so that gamers around the world can discover once again its charm full of heartwarming narrative, adventure and mystery. As a matter of fact the story depicts a fantasy journey of two brothers through a fairy-tale world populated by trolls, ogres and other magical creatures, which they will have to face in order to find the remedy for the mysterious illness that has struck their father.
Serena Tripepi (Maga Animation Studio's TD, director and also in charge for international relations) just came back from a 4-day visit to the European Film Market (EFM) at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, that was held from February 15 to 21.
Italy was “Country in Focus” this year and the Italian Pavilion, where we were hosted as part of the delegation, has been home of Italian cinema within this event: a physical place and a virtual window to put under the spotlight the Italian film industry and grant an opportunity for networking with producers, distributors, investors and experts. This visit to Berlin was a fantastic chance for our studio, to engage in extensive networking, discover new possibilities for future co-productions, meet new talented artists, stay up-to-date on new technologies and stimulate creativity for our upcoming projects!

We are really thrilled, since we also took part in the making of this game (whose release is very close), an open world narrative game that combines the detective and life-sim genres.
In October 2023 one of the most exciting driving games with the famous Mattel™ toy cars came back with a new release by the game developer Milestone. Maga Animation Studio supported the development team on Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 by making an epic adventure through 2D motion comics cutscenes. Similarly to its previous version, Turbocharged is a racing game in which the player takes control of vehicles from the Hot Wheels franchise and races against other opponents in miniature racetracks.
Two days ago, on 10th January, the game has been nominated for "Racing Game of the Year" at the 27th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards (Design Innovate Communicate Entertain), commonly recognized as the video game equivalent of the Academy Awards! After receiving on November 13th the nomination for "Best Sports/Racing Game" at the Game Awards 2023, this second accreditation adds even more meaning to all of us involved in this project.
Yay~! We are so happy to announce that our project Believe in Wonder, produced for Rinascente's last Christmas advertising campaign, won the 2023 Key Award for the Best Special FX and Animation category. We are immensely honoured and grateful for this award. Being recognized for our hard work and dedication means the world to Maga Animation Studio. This motivates us to work even harder towards creating new imagineries and taking them into reality again and again...with always a little of Maga's magic! We would like to take the chance to thanks all the people involved in the production, the creative agency Wunderman Thompson Italy and Rinascente marketing team.
During the Milan Games Week we spent a great time with our friends from Memorable Games and played the new demo of On Your Tail at the Nintendo space on the new NintendoSwitch! It was amazing to see and try the first of many results of our hard work and to catch up with Memorable Games' team.
Plus, on Sunday we got to watch the talk dedicated to On Your Tail, during which some snippets, some fun facts about the making of the game and some of its features were shared with all of you. The art director Imma, Immacolata Botti and head of Memorable Games and CEO Mauro Fanelli were presented by Cydonia and Kurolily.
OnYourTail was announced during the Indie World panel by Nintendo for Nintendo Switch! We are proud to took part in the project, working on the cut-scenes, characters modeling, rigs and gameplay animation alongside Memorable Games and Humble Games.

Paris-based distributor Kids First has inked broadcast deals for the CG-animated series Hello Kitty: Super Style! in Europe, East Africa and North America. Hello everybody, today is the day! We are thrilled to announce our recent project and collaboration with Ubisoft Milan and Ubisoft. We want to give a big hug to all Maga animation studio's artists and people for the hard work and for the incredible results on each pixel and animation produced and a big big thank you to Ubisoft for involving us in the realization of this dream project. Our studio took care of different tasks and activities, such as gameplay animation, cut-scenes, and in-game cinematics, together with the terrific Ubisoft Milan team and the great vision of Davide Soliani, which pushed everybody with a lot of passion and determination to reach the best results on this incredible game and guided us to the edge of this awesome galaxy! Yesterday at Nacon connect 2022, was presented our recent CG trailer with a stunning protagonist... Terminator T800. The reveal trailer was realized for the announcement of the Terminator Survival Game developed by Nacon Studio Milan, thank you guys for involving us in this awesome project! Ubisoft has offered fans a deep dive into the upcoming Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope via a special Showcase presentation. Creative Director Davide Soliani hosted the fifteen-minute broadcast last night, which included gameplay details, plot, music and more. Our team is very proud and happy to be part of this epic production, thank you to everybody at Ubisoft for giving us this unique opportunity, stay tuned, more news is coming soon...
